PUPPYSPEAK

For healthy puppies 8–20 weeks of age, with the first set of vaccinations seven days before the first session.

No, this isn’t where we teach your puppy to “SPEAK” – he already knows how to do that! – these sessions are
designed to help you interpret your puppy’s body language and learn how to communicate with him in a
language that he understands.  

 Topics include:

• surviving normal puppy behaviors – jumping up, mouthing and biting, chewing, vocalizing – so they don’t become future problems
• crate training and potty training
• encouraging and supporting your puppy while he learns about your world
• teaching your puppy to enjoy handling
• learning some foundation skills, such as SIT, WATCH, COME, DOWN, and LEAVE IT

6 sessions:  $300

FOUNDATION 1

For puppies or young dogs five months or older.

As a professional dog trainer, I have extensive experience molding puppies into confident, adaptable young dogs.  Starting with the skills your puppy learned in PuppySpeak (or any equivalent puppy kindergarten class), we continue with the foundation behaviors your family, friends, and occasional visitors appreciate, and dog-friendly establishments expect.

 Topics include:

• respecting space and setting boundaries
• communicating with your puppy / dog
• learning skills such as SIT, WATCH, COME, DOWN, STAY, and LEAVE IT
• walking nicely on leash (loose leash walking)
• controlling impulses and resisting minor distractions

6 sessions:  $330

FOUNDATION 2

For puppies / young dogs six months or older with Foundation I skills.

This private dog training course builds on what your dog learned in Foundation 1 (or an equivalent basic
obedience or home manners class).  We will strengthen their skills / behaviors by putting them through
more challenging situations.

 Your dog will learn to:

• respond more promptly to requested behaviors
• confidently maintain a STAY for longer duration or from a greater distance
• ignore typical distractions in a given environment
